Here are some screens shots of one of my older images acquired in Starlight Xpress software and color synthesized in Astroart. I have used Mike Smiths color plug-in. Follow this link to download it. http://www.sigma-tech.co.uk/
The Sombrero Galaxy 25/5/2000.
1) Open your image and then open Mike's plug-in. Go to "Image Format" and select your settings. By un-ticking "Auto Format", it allows you to manually assign settings. I chose these settings which may or may not work for your images, experiment to find the best results. See Below:

2) After completing your settings, color synthesis will be applied to the image. See Below:

3) Click on "Color Adjust" and then click on "White Balance". Results shown below:

4) Click on "Synthesis"" and here you can either perform a single LRGB, or, a batch processing where you would then use pre-processing to stack all frames. I elected to perform a single LRGB Se Below:
